ABOUT JUAN JOSE RODRIGUEZ
Native from
Cantel, Quetzaltenango (Guatemala). In 1943 he obtained the
first inter-scholar drawing and painting prize. In 1952 he
entered the Instituto Normal Mixto de Occidente, in San
Marcos, where he graduated as a primary teacher. In 1961 he
founded his first drawing and painting studio. In 1970 he
graduated as an Architect from the University of San Carlos
de Guatemala. In 1972 he travels to Colombia, Venezuela,
Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Ecuador to specialize in
housing design and construction with a social focus.
After
working in the architecture field, construction and teaching,
he devoted himself completely to painting. His works of art
have been presented both in Guatemala and internationally.
